Get 10 - 20 Leads a Day

This post is written for the “every man” and "every woman" - the typical MLM marketer or any marketer for that matter who is looking for or needs prospects. So where do we find MLM Prospects?

I am going to give you tips and tricks that I use everyday to generate between 10-20 leads per day for ANY business, that’s right, doesn’t matter if you sell lotions, potions, or pills using the strategies I am going to teach you will generate the leads desired to grow your business! So are you always going to get 10-20 leads per day using these methods? The answer is that gray area, because some days you may hit the numbers right on the head and some days you might go a little under or way over, but if you do the methods consistently you will average these types of leads. Would 10-20 MLM Prospects per day help in your current situation? I bet it would, so follow my methods below and put them in to action everyday!

Method 1: This is my most powerful method to generating an endless supply of MLM prospects, it’s called Viral Blogging and Content Creation!

This method is the cheapest, most effective way to generate a steady flow of residual MLM prospects. So, let me tell ya how its done. The number one thing you want to do is get a blog set up ( I prefer for you to use an Empower Network blog like the one you are seeing now, because of the fact that it is all set up on an authority site which is by default going to get you better results faster, you can get it by clicking one of the banners on the side or at the top or bottom of this blog post ).

If you do not choose to get the Empower blog to generate more MLM Prospects that is totally fine, the method will still work but will take a little more time and effort and may yield slightly less results. After you have your blog set up ( I prefer using word press on a custom domain name ) you are going to want to blog daily, now it doesn’t matter what you blog about at all, you can blog about ANYTHING, the point is to get enough post’s on your blog so that you are all over the place!

IMPORTANT: When you are setting up your blog you want to make sure to include some banners on the side, a link in the navigation bar that invites them to work with you, and make sure to include your primary business on that page and make the banners point to your capture page or business affiliate link etc this is what is going to build your business when your MLM Prospects come to your page. So you can probably see now how much impact this can have if you take action, right? USEFUL INFO: Make sure you search google for “SEO blog training” “Blog Syndication” and “Keyword Research For Blogging” and study up on it, the more you know the more money you will make in your business!

TIP 1: You can outsource your blogging, you can actually go to sites like fiverr.com and pay someone a fee to create SEO blogs for you so you don’t have to worry about any of it.

Method 2: SOLO ADS for MLM Prospects.

This method alone can be up and down, but if you find the right quality solo ads you can absolutely KILL IT! Now, what is a solo ad? A solo ad is basically finding a person with an MLM Prospects list already built, and having them send your ad whatever it may be to that list. There are tons of cheap ways to do this but the most consistent and proven solo ads are between $45-$65 depending on the amount of clicks you want to receive. This is FAST traffic and can really generate MLM Prospects very fast!

TIP 2: When using solo ads you want to make sure you are tracking your links to find out which solo ad providers are producing for you so you can go back to them for results in the future! You can google “Link tracking” “Solo ad link tracking” “How to track links for solo ads” and find tons of useful information!

Method 3: Social Media for MLM Prospects.

This is probably my least used method, but it absolutely works for some fast traffic, but its a little more complex than the other methods. This method requires branding yourself as a leader, adding value, and talking/meeting new people all the time ( which is never a bad thing) Basically, you want to create an account for business, and start to add groups of similar interest, “internet marketing” “network marketing” “MLM” “your company” etc… Join as many as you can, and always stay joining groups! The next step is to add value by posting inspirational/motivational stuff everyday ( NEVER PITCH OR POST PRODUCT LINKS ) when you see people that are actively talking in groups, and or responding to your post’s add them, I suggest adding 10-20 people a day.

Once you have a solid base of friends and you are posting value everyday, you can start conversation with people and build personal friendships ( DO NOT PITCH ) you do not want to talk about your business or product, these chats are specifically to build trust and friendship, you will build the business later. All friends are MLM Prospects but they don’t have to know that! IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a link to your BLOG page and your youtube account ( if you have one ) on your profile so that people can find your site when they are searching around your page.

TIP 3: People join and buy from people who they KNOW AND TRUST! Keep this in mind!

That is all for my basic training on generating MLM Prospects! Do these everyday, and watch your list and sales soar to new heights! Never forget that MLM Prospects are everywhere, never limit yourself to one thing, but never spend time doing something that isn’t getting you the results you are looking for!

A "Numbers" Game or A People Game?

Truth is, this blanket statement is the biggest LIE about Network Marketing and it’s HURTING your business the more you believe it.

Here’s the thing.

What the Heck is Facebook “Ad Scent” and How to Use It to Get More Leads and Sales?

What the Heck is Facebook “Ad Scent” and How to Use It to Get More Leads and Sales

Written by MATT BARAN

Question…

Ever ran an ad that got clicks, but not any sales?

Hey, it happens to the best of us.

And honestly, there are quite a few things that can go wrong.

But there’s one BIG mistake I constantly see people making over and over, and it will cause your ads to bomb each and every time.

This problem is easy to overlook and hard to recognize to the untrained eye, but luckily the fix is simple.

So if you’re actively using Facebook ads in order to build your businesses, generate leads, and generate sales, then you bes’ listen up.

Because with a few quick tweaks, you can easily boost your sales overnight.

Figuring out Facebook advertising

Lately there’s been a bit of a trend where I’ve seen folks in our community saying:

“I spent $50 and got 37 clicks, two leads, and zero sales. What did I do wrong?”

Now, right off the bat I can tell you this isn’t enough information for me to provide a helpful analysis.

To figure out what isn’t working, I’d need to examine the following:

The ad in question

All associated metrics (such as cost per click, click-through rate, and Relevancy score)

Which interests were being targeted

What overall strategy you’re using on your Fan Page

All these elements are important, because I obviously don’t want to give you bad advice.

As much as I’d love to say it’s possible to predict what’s going to perform, even our ads don’t win 100% of the time either.

More than anything, advertising comes down to testing and tweaking to figure out what works.

Read of my thoughts on strategy here:

The Right Mindset for Paid Advertising

The BIG mistake most marketers make

One thing to ALWAYS keep in mind is this…

When you’re advertising anything, including blog posts, landing pages, videos, etc., there is a tendency to forget that every single click you get comes from a REAL person with real feelings, emotions, and interests.

And if someone clicks on your ad, then your ad got them interested in some way.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a star copywriter or you’re just starting out.

If somebody clicked on your ad, then you said something that got them genuinely interested in what you got on the “other side” of that click.

And here’s the thing…

If you’re getting clicks, but not sales, then the problem might just be what happens after the click.

And perhaps less intuitively…

It probably doesn’t have anything to do with what you’re selling, but instead how you’re selling it.

The all-important “Ad Scent”

When your ad campaign is underperforming and you aren’t getting any sales, the issue tends to be what we call “poor ad scent.”

Basically, ad scent is the congruence (or similarity) between what your ad promised and what the person who clicked your ad receives when they get to your page.

Let me give you a very basic example…

Let’s say that you’re a “Paleo” person and eat a Paleo diet that’s FULL of meat.

All meat, all the time!

Then you create an ad promoting the vegan diet.

Now, if somebody scrolls through their News Feed and sees your vegan diet ad, they might think…

“Animals! Awesome! I LOVE animals and totally don’t want to eat them!”

So let’s say they like your Page and click on your ad.

Inevitably, once they get to your website and find information about the Paleo diet, they’re going to get pretty peeved, because the ad had NOTHING to do with the site they landed on.

Makes sense, right?

People HATE feeling “bait and switched”

Now let’s take that example and directly relate it to advertising Elite Marketing Pro’s content and offers.

Let’s say you’ve created an ad that’s all about your story, your journey, and where you are sending people.

For example…

“My life was a wreck. The bills were piling up. My family was growing, but my paycheck wasn’t. I was down and out with my luck and didn’t know where to turn. I wanted more, but was lost. Then, incredibly. I found this one awesome thing that completely changed everything. Now I’m livin’ large, working at home in my jammies. Click here to learn more!”

Then you send them to an Elite Marketing Pro blog post (kinda like this one), which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the story you just told them.

See the issue?

Basically that person saw your ad, read your story, and decided…

“Oh man, I want to learn more about what’s going on here and what they have to say about this.”

So they click, but arrive at a blog post that’s completely different.

The tone of the blog post is completely different, the author is different…

It’s all different!

That’s going to turn whoever clicked off!

They’re going to think…

“This isn’t what I expected. Now there’s this long blog post that doesn’t have anything to do with the story I just read, and I don’t know why I’d want to stick around and read this.”

That’s ad scent!

You always want your ad (including your copy and image) to directly relate to what’s on your landing page (which was a blog post in this example).

Because if their experience isn’t congruent, your prospects are not going to be interested in sticking around.

I mean, sure, you might get a few people who are like…

“Okay, maybe this sounds interesting. I’ll read on.”

But most people are going to click “back,” get on with their day, and find the next thing in their News Feed.

When your ad and landing page aren’t congruent…

It will drive up your cost per click

It’ll also impact your Relevancy score

And you’ll start getting those ‘fun’ comments that really make you question whether this whole entrepreneurship thing is worth it or not

Another way to look at ad scent

Everybody’s looking for the next new Facebook “trick” and wondering why kind of audience they should be advertising to.

Daegan Smith came up with a perfect analogy of a little deer sipping water at a bubbling brook.

Say you’re walking along through the forest and you come across that particular deer.

Any sort of rustling or quick movement is going to scare that little deer away.

You got to think about your prospects in the exact same way.

For example, if they click on your ad and the landing page doesn’t appear to be what they signed up for, they’re probably going to get scared and question whether you’re legit.

At the worst, they’re going to report your ad as spam (which you don’t want).

Otherwise, they might get on with their day.

Ad scent is a fundamental marketing principle

It’s really not a ‘trick’ at all, but it’s something you always want to keep in mind when you’re advertising blog posts, capture pages, videos, and pretty much everything else.

You need to ask yourself…

“Does the language in my ad match where the prospect will land when they click the ad? Is it creating a natural progression toward my landing page”

…which would be your blog post.

So look at your ads and ask yourself:

Does the the language on my ad match the language on my landing page?

One last tip:

When you’re creating your ads, make sure you’re unclicking the “Audience Network” box in your placements.

I still see a lot of people forgetting to do that, and frankly, Facebook doesn’t make it easy.

They don’t make it stand out, so when you’re creating your ad always make sure you’re unchecking that box.

Because, and just trust me on this one, your results, in most cases, are not going to be as good if you use Audience Network.

And finally, one more time, always be sure to…

Question whether your ad matches your landing page!

Overall, just remember that if you’re not seeing the conversions that you’re looking for, then it could very well be your ad scent or congruency.

Start there.

And one last tip…

As you can see, it can take a fair bit of trial and error to figure out what works.

However, I do know a shortcut that’s helped dozens of marketers quickly create profitable campaigns (often within just a few days).

And that’s taking us up on an over-the-shoulder tour of…

Our highest-converting ads (and their most congruent landing pages)

Can You Make 30 Million Online?

It’s not every day I get excited like I am today about something as revolutionary as what you’re about to see.

You probably already know that our indsutry is full of hype and self-proclaimed gurus, selling bad and often dangerous advice to others. And that’s putting it mildly.

It’s often hard to tell crap from the real thing.

And is one of the main reasons why most people struggle and burn through gobs of money before seeing any results. If they do ever.

Which is why I’m thrilled to introduce you to a friend of mine, Tim Erway who is an absolute rockstar in this business.

Actually, scratch that. He is the mentor to many of the rockstars and leaders in this industry.

Tim has an incredible track record of success, banking over $30 Million in sales online.

And what’s even more impressive, helping many of his students create 6-Figure, 7-Figure, and some even 8-Figure internet empires.

Tim developed a bulletproof system that can predictably and consistently crank out leads, sales, and create big paydays, even if you’re brand spanking new and haven’t made a dime online yet.

Recently he recorded a video with all the details explaining exactly how he was able to sell Tens of Millions of Dollars worth of products online… and how ANYONE can use the exact same system to get rapid results.

You can check it out right here.

Is Your Dream Important?

I believe all human beings have dreams placed inside of them that are important…

… and certain dreams are GIVEN to you, because only you can carry them out.

But in many cases, dreams are simply lost.

Life gets in the way, reality sets in and achievement becomes “HARD”.

It takes work to become something truly great.

It takes work to create something worth sharing.

And it takes the ability to dream BIG in order to create the future you know you deserve.

Today I have a very timely message for you.

If you’ve ever given up on a dream (even a dream you’ve never shared)…You need to hear this.

This, I’m sure, will spark a belief that your dreams CAN and WILL be created at one point or another either by you or by somebody else.

Get Rich Fast

Getting rich is as certain as the law of gravity - if you know what to do.

My goal is 100% employment.

I've been involved in corporate finance for over 20 years and have helped some of the countries biggest companies grow from small to very large.

During that period, I studied the difference between success and failure and why some people get rich and most do not.

I researched hundreds of documents and books going all the way back to Babylon and Sumeria and the financial secrets of King Solomon.

I became a mutual funds rep with T. Rowe Price and Invesco.

I provided accounting services to 1-800-Flowers.

I worked as a non-profit and trust tax accountant with KPMG.

As a Family Office manager in Scottsdale AZ, I doubled my clients

portfolio - every year.

I studied the latest techniques of people like Donald Trump, Oprah, Richard Branson and Britney Spears.

I wanted to find a way that would work for everyone.

My goal is 100% employment.

I wanted to find a way for everyone to get rich - to have the money they need to live the lifestyle they desire.

After hundreds of hours of research, dozens of interviews and obtaining certifications and licenses, it hit me.

Now my secret is working for me.

It will work for you too.

And you need very little to get started.

You just need to do what I tell you to do,

when I tell you to do it.

(First tip - sell your stock and transfer it into cash, then invest it in what I tell you.)

Money invested in the stock market, 401k plans, Cd's, annuities, bonds or mutual funds seems very risky and dangerous to me. And the return sucks too.

I have found safe, high yielding investments that can earn

15%,

20%

30%

or more,

every year.

How much are your investments earning for you?

Do you want to be earning more, safely?

Study of a Panhandler: The "King of the Beggars"

$300 to $1000 a day. Cash. That's good money no matter how you look at it.

He said his name was Bob. Bob Tossler*. I was out of work and had been looking for a job for about 3 weeks. One of my roommates in the apartment complex I lived in suggested I should speak with Bob, because he was always looking for people to help him out. This made no sense to me because I knew Bob was a panhandler; I had seen him standing on the sidewalk day after day asking people for money. "How could he possibly help me" I thought. Little did I know.

I spent another couple of days on interviews and looking for a "regular" job when one day, arriving home after an unsuccessful job search, Bob found me.

"I hear you're looking for a job," he said. I hesitated wondering where this conversation was going to lead to but then I replied "Yes." Bob said he could show me how I could make some real money by working for him. I asked him how. "By doing what I do," Bob replied with a big grin.

I must admit I was quite dubious, "how much could this guy really be making?' I thought, so I asked him, his answer floored me. "I make between $300 to $1000 a day," he said. "Cash. I am the "King of the Beggars."

Now I wasn't taken in by this report even though it had floored me. After I had recovered a moment, I figured he was lying, "he couldn't possibly be making that much," I thought. I would be wrong.

Bob must have sensed my disbelief. "Go with me for one day," he said, "I'll pay you 10 dollars an hour just to watch me. I'll even let you hold all the money I receive so you'll know I'm not cheating somehow. My average is about $350 a day, and I'll pay you at the end of the day." My mind raced. 10 dollars an hour? Just to watch someone else work? I'm sold! I was just about to say, but Bob must have interpreted my hesitation as reluctance, "I'll even buy you breakfast, lunch and dinner," he said, "and not fast food either, I don't eat that garbage. It'll be a real meal at a nice restaurant. I never eat at home, so I know all the best places in the city." If I wasn't sold before, now I really am, 10 dollars an hour to watch someone else work and then free meals, where do I sign? I told Bob OK and he said to be ready by 7 AM tomorrow and he would pick me up.

Bob was true to his word. We went to a Denny's for breakfast (OK, not a Nice restaurant, but not fast food either), but for lunch, we stopped at a decent place. "This is nice," I thought; for dinner we went to a family buffet, so even though we had not eaten at the Best places in the city (but the lunch venue was really good), we had not had fast food either.

We arrived at our location for the day by about 8:45. This was an upscale area of the city frequented by tourists. Many boutique arts and crafts stores and gift shops were located here. Nearby were streets lined with art galleries. Just a couple of blocks away were a group of upscale restaurants and nightclubs that opened in the evening.

That first day, Bob asked me to hold onto all the money he collected while he worked. That way he said, I could be sure that his estimate of an average of $350 was accurate. Well that first day Bob missed his estimate by nearly $100. He didn't come in low, he exceeded it taking in nearly $450. The next day Bob received nearly $500. The next couple of days were less and by the end of the week, the average was about $350 a day as Bob had estimated, I was impressed, but what Bob did was clearly difficult. I wasn't sure I could do it, even after a week of close observation.

At work, Bob was articulate, optimistic, engaging, enthusiastic and funny. He didn't dress like a beggar or panhandler would, Bob always dressed up wearing neatly pressed khaki slacks, a dress shirt, a hat with a flap covering his neck in the back (to protect him from the ever-present sun) and an orange reflective traffic guard-like vest. He said we should wear comfortable athletic shoes of some type, the best I could afford, because we would be on our feet and walking all day.

Bob would approach every person who passed near him; he especially liked groups because he almost always got everyone in the group to give him money. Bob had his job down to a science. He said it took him nearly 15 years of trial and error to get it to this point and he still tweaked it a bit here and there just to try out a new angle. Sometimes it would work he said, sometimes it wouldn't. One such time it didn't work was when he wore a tie. His donations plummeted. Thinking one day might have been just a fluke, Bob wore the tie a couple more days but the results were the same each day; his donations were much lower.

What Bob did was unique. Bob would approach each person or group and extend his hand as if to shake that person's hand. When that person put their hand out in return, Bob would put a trinket in their hand - and then vigorously resist accepting it back if they tried to give it back. The trinket was always some very inexpensive gift - a toy whistle, key ring or fold-up fan for example. Bob imported these from China for a few cents each.

Bob understood the psychology of giving something. Whenever someone gets something for free, most people feel a need to do something in return; they feel obligated to return the "favor," regardless of the intrinsic value or utility of the trinket they have received. Bob understood this perfectly. By giving the person (or persons for groups) a 'gift" that person now feels a subconscious obligation to immediately return that favor. By refusing to accept the "favor" if the person tries to give the gift back, Bob just increases the tension heightening that person's sense of obligation. It was at this point that part two of Bob's spiel would begin.

Bob told people he operated an animal shelter - which was true - technically. He would tell people how many thousands of pets he had saved over the last ten years and that he was now here because of the annual spay and neuter drive. Bob also wore a fanny pack that he would keep stuffed full of his trinkets and pamphlets. The pamphlets had a couple of photos of pets in his animal shelter along with a description beneath the picture of how the animal shelter had rescued so many pets over the years and how many people had happily adopted a pet from the shelter. As Bob launched into his speech, he would pull out a pamphlet for each listener and hand it to them, pointing to the pictures as he spoke. Bob would often tell of a family or child who had come to the shelter recently and found a pet they had been looking for and how happy the child or family was to find a lovable pet to take home. Bob was quite a ham and laid it all on very thickly. Within a few moments of his talk, your heart was almost bleeding to help these poor unfortunate animals.

Bob told me that a key to making the most money was to shut up as soon as you saw someone go for their wallet or pocketbook and switch to the "close." At this point, Bob's tenor would change. He would become more firm and stand up straighter. He would tell people how much it cost to care for a pet for one week and that was how much money he expected them to donate. If there was a group, he told them he expected each person in the group to donate the same amount, it wouldn't be fair he said, if just one person donated. Usually this worked. More often than not, everyone in the group would donate if at least one person did. Overall, I would estimate that about 50% of all people Bob approached would donate some money to his cause.

During a quiet spell, Bob told me about what was really going on. He had incorporated his home as a non-profit - a 501(c)3 organization. He personally had four dogs and about a dozen cats; this often constituted the full complement of animals at his "animal shelter." However, he also operated an animal phone adoption service. Here he paid a woman to answer two ads Bob had every day in the local newspaper. One ad read that a local phone adoption service for pets was looking for animals for good families. The other ad stated that a phone adoption service for pets had pets available for adoption. The woman who answered the phone would simply match the two groups up. Bob estimated that he averaged about 3 adoptions a day in this manner. He never saw the pets and he never took possession of the pets and never had to spend any money on them, he only paid the woman for her service using a phone Bob supplied for her.

Bob had used the money he received from his solicitations to place a down payment on the apartment building I was living in. And he owned his home outright he said. He also owned four cars and two boats plus all the latest electronics, but he nearly never used any of them because he "had" to work every day to keep his wife happy. Although somewhat true, it was obvious that Bob simply loved what he was doing.

Bob also had used the cash he received from the donations he had received to open a concession franchise business. Almost every fair, carnival, special event, block party or parade in the county featured at least two booths that were operated by Bob. One was a curly fry's booth. The other booth sold light-up toys and glow bracelets. Bob estimated that each booth earned about $500 to $1000 a day in profit. Bob said that he had these booths operating for about 40 to 60 days a year depending on the employees he had available and the weather etc. Bob said he paid all the taxes due and even donated cash to other charities. Although he never mentioned it or knew that I knew, I also witnessed Bob handing out cash to people who needed it. Sometimes people would come to him for a loan to pay their rent or buy groceries. If Bob knew who you were and he knew you were telling the truth, Bob often gave what was asked of him. If Bob did not know you or suspected you may be asking for more than you really needed, he would offer a job instead - doing what he did of course. Some people took him up on his offer and a few succeeded.

Although it was difficult to learn, I followed Bob's advice and while I was working for him I averaged about $150 a day. I always gave Bob half of what I earned per our agreement. My best day I earned $350, my worst was zero, fortunately only 2 or 3 of these occurred in the several years I worked for him. My best income earnings from Bob were when I worked concessions for him. If you worked a light booth or a walk around trolley (often six or seven people per show did this for Bob) his rule was that the first $75 of your sales belonged to him to pay for the merchandise you sold. After that, he split everything 50-50. On most events, I would average $150 an hour as my commission; my best was $750 an hour but it only lasted for one and a half hours before our trucks were completely sold out of inventory.

If you want to do this, you need to look professional. Wear the orange vest. Get your spiel ready with lots of closings in it. Bob was always saying "always be closing." Ask for the money. Know when to stop the sales pitch and switch over to the closing speech. Get people talking about themselves, Bob would often talk with someone for 5 minutes to find out about their interests and purposes for being at that location at that time. He would get everyone's name and use their names throughout his spiel. He would get them laughing with an anecdote or popular joke, (sometimes racy). And he would intertwine his spiel with all of this and then shut up for a second when they went for their money and then start in with the closing. Silence is important and powerful, know when to use it but don't abuse it.

If you get the sales pitch and closing right and you find the proper locations, maybe you could make enough money to pay your bills. You don't need to own an animal shelter or found a non-profit to solicit donations on behalf of a charity. You can solicit donations for any charity if you give at least 10% of the money you receive to the charity. Many of the biggest organizations which solicit money on behalf of charities donate less than 10% but they can do this because they are charities themselves. Don't try to "get by" on this, pay the taxes due and give at least 10% of your earnings to charity.

Anguish in America

The restrained dawn strains behind the crowd. If this feels like you in your job search, I know how you feel. There are approximately 13 million Americans out of work right now; the unemployment rate is near 10% with another 3% having given up even finding a job. This is the highest unemployment figure since the Great Depression. As you well know, the competition for a job - ANY job - is fierce. A friend commented recently (March 2010) how he went for a job interview and there were at least 20 people ahead of him in line - and he was there an hour early! People with years of experience and MBA's are taking entry level jobs.

People say that most of our jobs have fled to Mexico or China or some other country. Although, on the surface, that may be true, that truth obscures the real issue. The fact of the matter is that we are in another great restructuring of the economy. The normal patterns and ebb and flow of business and commerce and trade between nations is over. As a result, so are homegrown jobs. We need to be looking toward the future, not arguing about how to fix the past. One method is to retrain for another job or career. Many states offer subsidized job training in a career of your choice, perhaps your state has such a program. Another method is to think more outside the box.

From now on, a job, any job, is going to be vulnerable to forces you cannot control. You may be working one day and out the next. The only way to ensure you have control over your finances is to become self-employed. I am not saying you need to start a business. That sounds like way to much work for me. What I mean is kind of like career groups are doing now. Many doctors are self-employed, so are many massage therapists. Many counselors and self-help gurus are self-employed. Dancers and craftspeople also have many self-employed individuals among their ranks. None of these occupations may be suitable for you, but I'm sure there is some skill, education, experience or talent you have that you can channel into a full time income. There are job and career specialists (most are self-employed) who can help point you in the right direction to uncovering and exploiting your own natural talents and, if necessary, preparing a program of study that will enable you to begin your new career.

7 Self Introduction Strategies For a Successful Interview

Fresh out of college? Recently laid off? Re-entering the work force? You can gain an advantage over those dozens of other qualified people interviewing for the same job by using these 7 Self Introduction Strategies for a Successful Interview.

In any interview you want to present yourself as a skilled and knowledgeable professional who is a great team player and enthusiastic about the company and the position for which you are interviewing. These self introduction strategies will help present you in the best light so that you stand out from other interviewees and make the best possible impression during the interview.

Remember to ask yourself this question before any interview, answer it to yourself, present it at the interview and follow the strategies below to land that job. The question: "What can I offer that no one else can?"

1. Preparation - Preparation is key. This means to research the company; find out what they do and how they do it. Has there been some recent online article? Has there been a story about the company, its products or a member of management in a local magazine or newspaper? Perhaps there has been a feature story on the radio or TV? Digging these up and relating them casually during the course of your interview will make a good impression on the interviewer.

Conduct research on the company's products and services. What are they? How do they compare to those of the competition? Who is the competition? How does the company produce or distribute its products or services? What were last year's (or last quarter's) sales figures? Interject these facts into your interview and you will appear knowledgeable, professional and you will definitely stand out from any other interviewee.

Research the position you are applying for. Details may not be possible to uncover, but you should understand the broad responsibilities as well as the specific skills and experience you are bringing to the table. Mention these skills and experience and even if you are wrong about the details of the position, you will still appear as enthusiastic.

2. Rehearsal - Now that you have all the facts about the company, you need to memorize them all and present them in a way that doesn't seem wooden or as if you're reading from a teleprompter. This is where rehearsal comes in. You may try a full blown dress rehearsal wearing the same type of attire that you would wear for the interview. While some people swear this helps, others consider it overkill. Only you can tell.

Recite the facts about the company and present a few relevant details about yourself stressing how much of a team player you are or other bits of information you have gleaned from the job description. How do you fit in? Explain this. How is your experience helpful to the company? Tell them. How can you use your knowledge and skills to benefit your future employer? Let them know. Present these in short "sound bites". Rehearse them until they feel and sound natural and not rehearsed.

3. Questions - You may have heard about how important relevant questions are and you would be right. From your research you should have uncovered several areas you may feel uncertain about or a few things you would like clarification on. These are good things. Write these down. Memorize them if possible, but don't be afraid to pull out a 3x5 card during the course of the interview if you need to remind yourself what your questions are. You can also buy a book at a copyshop or office supply store that features key questions to ask your interviewer. This is always good.

4. Formality - Now that you are at the interview you need to know what to do. Obviously, you need to arrive on time and this means 10 to 20 minutes early. Not 5 minutes. Not 1 minute. Never late! Be early. This will give you time to mentally rehearse the interview in your mind, review your cheat sheet of questions, powder your nose and otherwise prepare yourself comfortably for the interview.

Dress one level up from the position you are applying for. This is a subjective assessment and sometimes I have guessed wrong, but you can rarely go wrong from a neat appearance. If in doubt, dress up.

Be professional, courteous and likable with everyone you meet. You never know whom you are greeting or with whom you may be working when you are hired.

And keep the cell phone off, the PSP at home, and the earbuds and headphones in the car - but, believe it or not - a Bluetooth is ok, if you do not talk on it.

5. Friendly - It is your time to shine! You want to be courteous and friendly to everyone you meet, especially during the interview. Appear likable, smile and lean forward, don't fidget. A few tricks I learned from the NLP school follow, but don't make them obvious.

Try to mirror the position of the interviewer. Match their position with your own. If they cross their legs, wait a minute or two then cross your legs. If they lean forward, count to 30, then lean forward. If they nod their head, nod your head. If you have your resume or notepad in front of you, turn it to mirror any material they may have. Do this with your peripheral vision. Never look directly at something then attempt to mirror it, you will get caught. When answering a question, repeat the question or a few key words of the question or rephrase it before presenting your answer. Be yourself.

6. Interesting - You must capture the interest of your interviewer. You do this by applying the steps above plus you mention a few favorite anecdotes from your experience that demonstrate how you have successfully faced a challenge, resolved a problem, been a good team player, stayed late to complete a project or soothed a disgruntled co-worker or customer. Add a tidbit of your work experience that shows how you have added value to a previous employer. If you get a few of these together - how you have added value - you can use them for that all important question, "why should we consider you for this position?" And this brings us to 7.

7. Unique - Being unique is the key to getting the job. If you stand out from all the other candidates, if you can appear friendly and interesting, if you are on time and dressed appropriately and if you can demonstrate just how much of a positive impact your skills and experience will bring to the company, you will get hired.

By following these strategies of self introduction in interviews you will almost certainly be one of, if not the top choice for consideration.
